Growth Plans — Manager Guide
Help people turn capability gaps into concrete learning — assignments, personal paths, and periodic snapshots.
What it is
Managers do not “own” a member’s private path content, but you assign, coach, and review growth:
- Org roadmaps and trainings via Learning assignments
- Bulk skill targets from Capability distribution
- 1:1 reviews of Growth Hub + optional growth-plan snapshots
Where in the app
- Learning workspace → assignments
- Delivery / People → Capability distribution (bulk-assign)
- 1:1 workspace → meetings where you review Growth Hub together
- Member surfaces (read with them): Growth Hub, personal roadmaps, growth plan
Step-by-step
Assign learning
- Open Learning assignments.
- Choose people and an org roadmap or training.
- Set due dates / notes if available.
- Confirm — members see the assignment under Learning.
Close gaps from analytics
- Open Capability distribution.
- Drill into a weak bucket.
- Select people → choose a skill target → bulk-create recommended learning assignments.
Suggest personalization
- In a 1:1, open the member’s Growth Hub.
- Suggest forking an org path when they need a private variant.
- Avoid editing their private nodes unless they share them.
Capture snapshots
- During quarterly (or cadence) 1:1s, ask the member to save a growth plan snapshot.
- Add reflection notes on the meeting.
- Link learning OKRs when progress should be measured (Team OKRs).
Tips
- Prefer assignments for shared org curricula; forks for individual carve-outs.
- Re-check Capability distribution after campaigns land — see Upskilling campaigns.
- Use Integrations impact map when staffing data should inform who gets which path.
